Pipe Organ Installed

In 1936 the installation of a two-manual pipe organ greatly enhanced the music in our parish liturgical celebrations.  A gift to the parish by the brothers Ben and "River Joe" Rolwing, they dedicated the organ to the beloved Sister M. Gonzaga who devoted so much of herself to the development of church music in our parish.  In accordance with specifications drawn up by Sister Gonzaga the Rolwing brothers commissioned the Wicks Organ Co., of Highland, Illinois, to build and install the new organ.  A polished brass plaque fixed on the organ console is engraved as follows:

Designed By The Venerable Sister M. Gonzaga, C.PP.S.
Donated By
Mr. Bernard A. Rolwing and Mr. Joseph G. Rolwing
Dedicated By
The Very Reverend Henry F. Schuerrnann, S.T.D., V.F.
Rev. J. R. Wieberg, Pastor
