At Matthews and Court Streets
Father Glenn Eftink announced during this weekend's Sunday masses that new mass schedules are coming to St. Henry's effective Saturday, October 3, 2009. Fr. Glenn explained that the change in mass schedules will allow him to use his limited time more efficiently, and will eliminate much driving time for him on the highway between Charleston and Sikeston.
As a bonus, Fr. Glenn will live in the rectory at St. Henry's every Saturday night; returning to Sikeston after the Sunday morning mass in Charleston. This will mark the first time in many years a diocesan priest has called St. Henry rectory home.
The last priest who lived in the rectory was Fr. Edward P. Nichols, Jr.. Fr. Ed served St. Henry's as Parish Administrator before Bishop John Leibrecht initiated the clustering or our parish with St. Francis Xavier parish in Sikeston. As a result of the clustering St. Henry parish found itself without a full time resident pastor for the first time since its founding in 1873.
The new Sunday mass schedule, effective Saturday, October 3, 2009 is as follows:
Mass Saturday evening at 6:00 PM
Mass Sunday morning at 8:00 AM
The new times for confession will be released later.
